ORIGIN STORY: The Gititu Farmers Cooperative Society manages and operates eight washing stations, known as ‘factories,’ across Kenya, serving nearly 5000 members. This particular batch originates from the Gititu station, established in 1957, which currently sources cherries from slightly more than 1000 farmers. The term ‘Gititu’ is derived from the Kikuyu language, meaning ‘big forest,’ a nod to the once vast wooded areas of Kiambu.
THE FLAVOURS: What could be a better way to enjoy warm weather than with a vibrant and sunlit Kenyan coffee? Gititu offers pronounced citrus notes reminiscent of tangerine and red grapefruit, layered with floral hints of jasmine and hibiscus. The finish is notably long-lasting, revealing flavours of creamy vanilla, rich molasses, and cooked peaches.
