BEANOGRAPHY
Last Splash is the clean, vivid, and bright filter coffee in the Phoenix lineup — juicy, lively, and built around fruit clarity. This edition comes from Ruarai Station in Gakindu, Central Province, Nyeri, Kenya.
Ruarai is a Kikuyu word meaning “place of rocks,” a reference to the rocky Ruarai River that flows beside the coffee factory. The station is run by the Ruthaka Farmers Co-operative Society and receives cherries from smallholder farmers around the foothills of Mount Kenya.
In the cup, Last Splash is bright and animated. Tamarind brings a light spice and sweet-sour depth, Concord grape adds darker fruit, and grapefruit carries the finish with crisp citrus lift. It is clean, expressive, and unmistakably Kenyan in its energy.

PROCESSING METHOD
Fully Washed
In a fully washed process, the coffee cherry is depulped so the outer fruit is removed before fermentation and washing. This reduces the influence of extended fruit contact and allows the coffee’s cultivar character, growing conditions, and processing clarity to come forward more directly.
For Last Splash, the washed process supports clarity, brightness, and a clean fruit structure. The cup feels vivid without becoming muddy, allowing its acidity and sweetness to move clearly across the palate.
In the cup, this means tamarind, Concord grape, grapefruit, lime candy, and a lively citrus finish — bright, juicy, and full of lift.
