– BEANOGRAPHY –

ORIGIN STORY: Sugar Mountain is our playground for experimental processing.  Coffees here aren’t just washed or natural — they undergo low‑oxygen fermentations, co‑ferments with fruit, carbonic maceration and lactic washes .  The result? Wildly tropical, fruit‑forward cups that leave you asking “what is this drink?” while humming along to Neil Young’s “Sugar Mountain” .  This JARC 74158 lot comes from Bekele Yutute, who owns three farms (Dambi, Kokose and Murago) and has earned multiple Cup of Excellence placements .  Bekele focuses on regenerative methods, mixing new seedlings into older plots and prioritising root health .  His nephew Samuel oversees post‑harvest processing: cherries are sealed for a 48‑hour low‑oxygen fermentation, then dried on raised beds for 20–25 days .

THE FLAVOURS: This lot is a tropical carnival.  It opens with strawberry, raspberry and a floral lilac nose, slides into banana with hints of mango and papaya, then finishes with sparkling citrus over cooked sugar .  Even as autumn arrives, Sugar Mountain makes summer live on in the cup.
